All Of The Lights

Amazingly gorgeous satellite photography from The Nighttime Lights of the World dataset showing human settlements across the earth, derived from nighttime data from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program.  Beautiful photography from the National Geophysical Data Center, who knew?

...I seriously want to blow up and frame the first one.

Picasso's Muse

It's probably too early to start talking about fall (I don't care, I love it), but how perfect is Oscar de la Renta's 2012 Resort make-up for automn?  In the summer I tend to fill my brows in less and stick to pretty much bronzer, blush & mascara - heavy make-up isn't really all that practical in the heat.  But come September: painterly brows. sheer eyes. stained mouth.

I've long been a Blackberry girl, but there's no denying that the iphone trumps it easily in so far as the camera & photography apps are concerned.  These vintage polaroid-inspired iphone images of Toronto by local amateur photographer Grey van der Meer are great examples of how you don't always need a DSLR to get some great shots.

Vallium

{Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 Couture, Paris}

If there's one thing that draws me to a look it's drama.  Bold, eye-catching ensembles are by far the ones that I most covet and admire.  It's easy to be generic, but risk taking and self-expression are what fashion's all about, and oh, does Giambattista Valli's recent couture collection ever have personality.  If a leopard print ball gown and matching cape doesn't sate one's propensity for audacity, I don't know what will.

Coffee & A Cupcake

After much longer than I intended, my blogging hiatus is over.  Munich + Jeff turned out to be really quite different from how I originally imagined it, and for awhile I thought that was a sign that I should regroup and get back to my original plan.  But I think that what I've discovered during this time off is that I'm happy and proud of what it is, and what it's been up until now...though we will have to see how things evolve over the course of the next few months, especially with an upcoming move to Toronto!

Glad to be back, and super excited about all the new posts to come.  The upside of an extended vacation is having so much material to share upon returning!

xo, Jess
