A Winter Wedding

I spent the past two years living in the middle of a snowbelt, and oddly enough seem to have come out of it loving the snow and all things winter.  The big city feels like a bit of a heat bubble lately, and has me daydreaming about the colder days ahead and all of the activities that come with the change in season.  Which is likely what made me think back to this spread in Martha Stewart Weddings.  Summer may be wedding season, but these Sundance nuptials have a charm to them that only a snow-blanketed ski village can lend.  The photographs on the hill are gorgeous, the save the dates & coffee sleeves are adorable....and who wouldn't want to attend a wedding that ends with the male guests being gifted flasks, and the female ones Uggs?

Spread Your Wings

If there's one surefire way to know the holiday season has officially begun, it's the airing of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.  Festive & upbeat, the spectacle makes both women and men content to stay in for a night cuddled up in front of the tv.  (Although it's likely only the women who start diets the day afterward.)  The 2011 show had all the glitz and drama we've come to expect....glitter runway included ;)

Retro Rustic

With fur pillows & throws, wood panelling, and classic retro furnishings, Aerin Lauder's Aspen home succeeds in looking like both a perfect venue for an après après ski, and a set from AMC's Mad Men.  The things I love about this chalet are too numerous to list, but for blogging's sake here are a few: framed vintage photography, a closetful of Sorels, large-scale stag artwork, and of course, a tub with a view of the perfect, snowy hill.

Seriously, it was 17º C here in Toronto today.  When, oh when is winter going to hit?  Let it snow... xo.

Every Time A Bell Rings

From its early days showcasing their upcoming collection, the Victoria's Secret fashion show has gotten increasingly elaborate, conceptual, and costume-y...in the best possible ways.  This year, the over-the-top wings are just the beginning of the fantastical get-ups Alessandra and the girls will be donning down the (hopefully, once again, made of glitter) runway this evening.  The 2011 show is VS's largest to date, with 69 looks, 31 sets of wings, and according to nine-time show designer Todd Thomas, "more glamour, more elegance, and more creativity." than we've ever seen.

Glamourpuss

Perhaps I'm a little bit tacky, but my idea of ultimate glamour seems to align with Vogue Italia's; big hair, liquid liner, fur....and kittens.  Obviously.
